Letter Opener

An instrument from a bygone era? One forgets how many letters still land on a desk daily. Cards, invitations, invoices, mailings, and once in a while ... a letter. They are ripped open unceremoniously, envelopes and postage stamps torn, contents crumpled. Letters deserve better.

The precious letter openers from CADEAUX JEWELRY do your paper mail justice.

Adorned with skulls made of smokey quartz, lemon quartz or rock crystal. These gemstones are carved by master-craftsmen in Germany.

The skull is an eternal memento mori, a reminder that life is transient and that every moment should be lived and enjoyed to the fullest. Also when one is opening letters!

The blades are made of sterling silver, the mounting and other ornaments are held in 18 Karat gold with precious stones or diamonds. The blade is stamped with the logo CADEAUX.

Alternatively, a one-of-a-kind specimen with a beautifully hand carved frog in nephrite. The frog is resting comfortably on an 18 Karat gold cushion. Its eyes are of ruby.

Or a turtle in silver mounted on a cut and polished piece of onyx and adorned with a Ginkgo leaf in 18 Karat gold set with diamonds.

Blue Diamond fetches 16 times 1972 Price

Ring by Bulgari with the vivid blue diamond of 10.95 carats

At Christie's New York auction on 20 October 2010, a diamond ring featuring a triangular cut and unusually beautiful and vivid blue diamond of 10.95 carats was bought for 15.7 million US Dollars. The ring by Bulgari had been sold at its Rome boutique in 1972 for US$ 1 million.

The chief of Christie's Americas Jewelry division, Rahul Kadakia, said that even after adjustments for inflation, the price of the diamond had tripled in value, "demonstrating the incredible resilience of diamonds in today's volatile economic environment and the true lasting value of fine jewelry."

The ring was sold to a private Asian collectior. During an intense five minute bidding battle, the price of the ring rose from US$ 8 million to US$ 15,762,500.

COLOR Ring STARDUST

Rings STARDUST [CO-02-004 WG BSD and PG RPYS]

COLOR by CADEAUX JEWELRY

The CADEAUX JEWELRY COLOR collection is an ode to life’s spectacular colors. Autumn leaves, spectral rainbows, tropical sunsets, iridescent minerals, coral reefs. COLOR brings nature’s colors to life in gold and precious gems.

Ring STARDUST

The night sky has stimulated ancient and modern cultures, through mythology with its eternal chaos and balance, for agriculture as a measure of seasons and time, in astronomy in search of origins and with astrology as a reflection of our hopes and dreams. The ring STARDUST is inspired by constellations, galaxies and nebulae. It mirrors the beauty of the night sky through an array of natural gems such as Rubies, Sapphires, Tsavorites and Diamonds set in a white or pink gold ring with an ellipsoid profile that emulates the apparition of a domed universe, and perfectly fits the finger.

STARDUST is a dazzling creation, evocative of the art of stained glass and Art Deco, full of fantasy, yet precious and made of gold and rare natural gems.

Ring: [Ref.: CO-02-004] Ring with an ellipsoid profile, a curved outer band in white or pink gold set with gems, and a convex inner ring band in pink gold.

Precious Metal: 18 Karat White Gold or 18 Karat Pink Gold.

Gemstones: Brilliant-cut Diamonds, genuine Rubies, yellow, pink, blue, or orange Sapphires, green Tsavorites.
