KULT by CADEAUX JEWELRY

CADEAUX JEWELRY KULT is jewelry without fear. Symbolic, unmistakable, daring, flamboyant, unique and trendy. Made of precious gold and natural gemstones – for lovers of the Real Thing.

Ring ET IN ARCADIA EGO Fully Set with Diamonds

The skull throughout history has been both a symbol of human transience and yet also a continual reminder of the treasure and gift of life. ET IN ARCADIA EGO is a classic Latin phrase – “And in Paradise I (am)” – best transcribed perhaps as “I too enjoyed the pleasures of life”. Idealized by painter Nicolas Poussin in the 17th century, this memento mori was broadened to suggest that through art we might become immortal. In more recent times the skull has reemerged as an ironic encouragement to live life to its fullest.

Ring: Ring with a U-shaped band and the engraving ET IN ARCADIA EGO on the outer band; [Ref. # KU-02-017 EMRW]

Precious Metal: 18 Karat white gold head on pink gold ring

Gemstones: 629 pieces or 4.84 carats of brilliant-cut Diamonds on the head and the ring, 2 facetted Emeralds as eyes

Shop Concept in Bangkok Upgraded

Rising from the ashes. CADEAUX JEWELRY's licensee in Thailand, Baechtold Ltd., is investing in a new shop-in-shop at EMPORIUM on Sukhumvit road, opening in July 2010.

CADEAUX JEWELRY & WATCH BOUTIQUE. The loss of 2 flagship shops at ZEN offers CADEAUX JEWELRY an opportunity to upgrade its profile as a retailer of jewelry and watches.

CADEAUX JEWELRY reverts to the elegant original color and concept scheme: racing green, a lacquer finish and the Ginkgo leaf symbol. "Perhaps we felt the loss of ZEN was an omen. Those shops were conceived with a bold color concept of orange and black. Cadeaux Jewelry reviewed its original concepts again and decided to revert to the original scheme. Orange will still be used to highlight new and extraordinary products," said Philip Baechtold.

"Our shop at EMPORIUM does not replace our boutiques at CENTRAL WORLD. We have been negotiating with EMPORIUM for a long time for a suitable space. Naturally we hope this move will also motivate our staff, our suppliers and our customers", said Baechtold. He added: "We expect to be reopening our flagship stores in the city center within a year when CENTRAL WORLD will have been rebuilt".

Philip Baechtold Interview

Philip A. Baechtold, the distributor of CADEAUX JEWELRY in Thailand, on the occasion of the opening of the CADEAUX MAKE LOVE Jewelry and Watch boutique at ZEN, Central World, Bangkok, was interviewed by HELLO! magazine (Thailand) about his business. The article was published in the issue of 4 March 2010.

Philip said that CADEAUX JEWELRY is in its 8th year of distribution in Thailand and that this occasion has been marked by the opening of the first boutique, CADEAUX MAKE LOVE Jewelry and Watch Boutique. He said that initially he had been cautioned by people in the industry that the CADEAUX JEWELRY style was not suitable for the Thai market, but that he had believed otherwise because affluent and sophisticated consumers from Thailand also traveled around the world and were acquainted with international jewelry trends, which were not always reflected by the jewelry on offer in conventional Thai jewelry shops, that were more focused on heavily set jewelry with clusters of diamonds and colored stones.

He further elaborated that also in Thailand there is interest interest for contemporary jewelry that like CADEAUX JEWELRY follows characteristic and modern design concepts and often shows more gold and craftsmanship than stones. This kind of jewelry, he said, was more expressive of a person's personality and standing in society, reflecting a timeless function of jewelry as a symbol of rank and status.

While not every determined effort would automatically lead to success, Philip ended by saying that his vision and the efforts of a devoted staff, further combined with a suitable partnership with large department stores and appropriate locations, had been borne results and that CADEAUX JEWELRY has been accepted and successful in Thailand.

GINKGO Ring

CADEAUX JEWELRY Ginkgo Ring (Model GK-02-002)

GINKGO. An ancient tree. Native to northern Asia and the forefather of all trees; an icon of longevity. The split or bi-lobed Ginkgo leaf is a symbol for two-in-one or one-in-two; an Oriental symbol for harmony and lasting values, in the West a sign for love. To CADEAUX JEWELRY an epitaph of precious emotions.

This is the original CADEAUX JEWELRY Ginkgo ring in 18 Karat gold. An intensely modern creation, designed by Evert Hofacker in 2001.

The ring band has a thickness of 3.3 mm and radiates strength, while the gentle shape of the Ginkgo leaf (here in white gold, set with diamonds) is inlaid into the outer ring band, emitting sensibility.

The same GINKGO ring design is available also without diamonds.

CADEAUX MAKE LOVE: Jewelry Boutique at ZEN

17 December 2009 saw the opening of the CADEAUX MAKE LOVE jewelry and watch boutique at ZEN, 1st Floor, at Central World, Bangkok.

CADEAUX MAKE LOVE is an exceptional shop that specializes in elite jewelry and watches, and offers unique and stylish products.

CADEAUX MAKE LOVE is the prime retailer for CADEAUX JEWELRY, a chic brand that is up-and-coming and that is attracting strong and confident customers looking for a modern jewelry identity. It is the first time CADEAUX JEWELRY is being sold in a dedicated shop. The jewelry offered at CADEAUX MAKE LOVE is of high-quality 18 Karat gold and precious stones, and ranges from established classics to outrageous new creations that are unmistakable and flamboyant.

In addition to CADEAUX JEWELRY, the boutique carries exclusive watches that are not available anywhere else in Bangkok.
CADEAUX MAKE LOVE has chosen ZEN as location because of the fashionable blend of stores at Central World, the center’s growing popularity and the good name of the CENTRAL group with its loyal customer base.

The boutique is bold in concept and name. The prime color is an attractive warm red that is dimly subdued by the basic black of showcases and floor covering. The boutique’s name MAKE LOVE is a popular culture slogan that emerged in the counterculture movement of the 1960s, and has since been used as an anti-war motto and for the sexual revolution. For CADEAUX JEWELRY it advocates an exceptionally positive individual attitude that has the courage to be noticed in a world dominated by conflicts and troubles.

Cult Ring SCARAB - Pink Tourmaline

CULT by CADEAUX JEWELRY
With CULT, CADEAUX JEWELRY launches into different territory where jewelry is more than a subtle mark of personal accomplishment, style or rank. CULT is precious jewelry without fear; daring, witty and outrageous. For lovers and sinners – unmistakable, flamboyant and full of symbolism.

Ring SCARAB Pink Tourmaline
The Scarab is an earliest symbol of life. In the old kingdoms of Egypt amulets that resembled dung beetles and had hieroglyphs and symbols inscribed on their undersides were associated with life, rebirth and the sun, long before the sun god Ra was worshiped. The ancient Egyptians had observed that the Scarab beetle laid its egg in dung and pushed it around to form a ball, which reminded them of the sun and its path across the sky, while the newborn beetle signified rebirth. Later the sun god assumed the character of Khepri – a human body with a Scarab head, grasping an Ankh, a knot-type symbol of purification and eternal life. Scarab jewelry was made of various minerals, often set in gold and worn to attract light and heat, and as symbol of rebirth.

The ring and earrings “Scarab” Pink Tourmaline by CADEAUX JEWELRY are made of 18 Karat gold, with scarabs hand-carved from beautifully translucent Pink Tourmaline and encircled with brilliant-cut diamonds.

Precious Metal: 18 Karat White Gold and Yellow Gold
Gemstones: The CADEAUX JEWELRY ring “Scarab” Pink Tourmaline features a Scarab hand-carved from Pink Tourmaline (22.81 carats) and 40 brilliant-cut diamonds (0.40 carats).

The earrings “Scarab” Pink Tourmaline feature two Scarabs hand-carved from Pink Tourmaline (32.80 carats)
